Artist Spotlight - Happy Red Fish

There's a lot of techniques that can be applied to photography to make it unique or interesting, but I'd have to say that adding embroidery is one of my favorites! "Happy red fish" is a creative studio operated by the artist and designer Hagar Vardimon-van Heummen based in Amsterdam,The Netherlands. More after the jump!

From her blog:

My name is Hagar, an artist, designer, mother of two kids and married. Living in beautiful Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

I Love to paper, thread, taking photos, vintage and I have a soft spot to quirky little things.

Are you wondering how Hagar does it? Lots of pins!

Her most recent works have combined thread and collage to create a totally new feel to the picture. Rather than the thread simply enhancing the image, the thread extends beyond the original image, resulting in a new location for the image to occupy.

Check out Happy Red Fish on Facebook and check out her website!

If you're interested in purchasing works from Happy Red Fish, check out her shop. Her brand new works from this year that are on her blog will be available to buy soon!
